Here you can read how some of your future colleagues experienced their introduction to Bureau Veritas!

JOB MANDERFELD

WORKING AS A SURVEYOR AT BUREAU VERITAS COMMODITIES IN AMSTERDAM SINCE 5 AUGUST 2019

I experienced my onboarding period quite well, although the first week in Pernis was somewhat on the theoretical side, but you can't escape that as part of learning the trade. The second week, I started in the field and I felt I was helped very well by my colleagues. They explained everything well and clearly. When I look back on my onboarding period, I see the companionable atmosphere, the time my colleagues took to properly explain everything to me, and the opportunity to quickly get to work independently as real pluses!

ELISA BOS

WORKING AS AN ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT AT BUREAU VERITAS COMMODITIES IN PERNIS SINCE 25 JULY 2019

At Bureau Veritas, I feel like I have really ended up in a warm comfortable bath with very nice colleagues who I can count on every day. I have experienced my onboarding period as very positive, but it actually carries on continuously because I learn something new every day! My colleagues also take the time to teach me things. I see the abundance of space there is for questions, how much time is freed up by colleagues to teach me things and how to interact with each other, as real positives. I hope to continue working in this team for a long time to come!

SANTOSH MAHABIR

WORKING AS KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER AT BUREAU VERITAS INDUSTRY & FACILITIES SINCE 1 JUNE 2019

The great thing I have experienced about my onboarding period at BV is the warm welcome of the direct and indirect colleagues. The culture at BV is of an informal nature, so the threshold to get in touch with my closest colleagues wasn't high.
An onboarding program had also been set up beforehand, with the aim of getting as much as possible from the colleagues I would have to deal with. Emotionally, this has covered 40% of the information load for me to be properly integrated. To acquire the remaining 60% of information, I was dependent on a "pick-up obligation". Based on my character and role, I have had no issues with this, but I can imagine that when you are less inclined to do so, the information flow is limited. My tip to you therefore is to ask colleagues if they can give you information that they think is necessary that you should be aware of, but which seems to them to be obvious information.

SEBASTIAAN DAMOISEAUX

WORKING AS A DESIGN REVIEWER AT BUREAU VERITAS INDUSTRY & FACILITIES SINCE 1 OCTOBER 2019

When I started at Bureau Veritas, I experienced my reception as very welcoming. Everyone approached me very positively, and with appreciation that I came to strengthen the team. In the first week, I was assigned a mentor who took me in tow by taking me to inspections and showing as many facets of the job as possible. Gradually, I was given more and more responsibility, learning by doing, so to say. Meanwhile, the mentor remains available as a Q&A or support for anything I want to know. In short, BV does its best to work me in properly!
