Evaluation guideline (BRL) 6000-21/00
The Evaluation Guideline (BRL) 6000-21/00 relates to the design and installation of Power Plants of geothermal energy systems and the design, installation and management of the above-ground part of geothermal energy systems.
When a company designs, installs and/or manages a geothermal energy system, it must be accredited by the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment. This has been laid down in law since 1 October 2014 in the Soil Quality Decree. To be eligible for such accreditation, a company must be in possession of a BRL 6000-21/00 certificate. Companies that have this certificate can apply for recognition from Rijkswaterstaat Leefomgeving (Bodem+).
BRL 6000-21/00 relates to the above-ground part of a geothermal energy system (the geothermal heat pump).

The BRL 6000-21/00 is a guideline relevant for companies that design, install and manage the above-ground part of geothermal energy systems. This could include consultancy firms, engineering firms and installers.

The BRL 6000-21/00 is divided into six sub-areas;
- Designing Power Plants of geothermal systems of individual homes (designing, small);
- Installing Power Plants of geothermal systems of individual homes (installing, small);
- Managing geothermal systems of individual homes (managing, small);
- Designing Power Plants of geothermal systems of residential buildings and/or utility buildings (designing, large);
- Installing Power Plants of geothermal systems of residential buildings and/or utility buildings (installing, large);
- Managing geothermal systems of residential buildings and/or utility buildings (managing, large).

Accreditation
The BRL 6000-21/00 is supplied by Bureau Veritas under accreditation from the RvA (Raad voor Accreditatie).
