SCIOS scope 4
inspection of internal combustion engines and turbines
Arrange a SCIOS Scope 4 inspection for internal combustion engines and turbines through Bureau Veritas.
About SCIOS Scope 4 inspections
The SCIOS certification requires periodic inspection of the maintenance status of combustion plants. Thus, an employer can intervene on time if safety risks arise. These are installations with more than 100 kW of rated thermal input power powered by gaseous fuels, and solid fuel-fired (emergency) installations with more than 20 kW of rated thermal input power.
The Foundation for the Certification of Inspection and Maintenance of Combustion Plants (SCIOS - Stichting Certificatie Inspectie en Onderhoud Stookinstallaties) manages the certification scheme. It describes who carries out the first or special inspection (EBI - eerste of bijzondere inspectie), periodic maintenance (PO - periodiek onderhoud) and periodic inspections (PI - periodieke inspecties) on the combustion plants, and how this is done. In case of new installations and existing installations without a basic report (BV - basisverslag), an EBI (VISA inspector) must draw up this basic report himself. In addition, an installation file is required for each installation.
Bureau Veritas Industrial Services is part of Bureau Veritas Inspection and Certification The Netherlands B.V. We are a recognized and certified SCIOS body for the execution of PIs and EBIs and have skilled and qualified SCIOS inspectors (EBIs). They have extensive experience with the business and production processes in your industry.
SCIOS Scope 4 inspection of internal combustion engines and turbines
Bureau Veritas takes the TD3 technical documentation as a starting point for the scope 4 SCIOS inspection. It states which minimum requirements the inspection must meet. Bureau Veritas also knows everything about determining the share of the heat recovery plants on site. These calculations can be included as added value in the report.
INSPECTION METHODOLOGY
The inspection is carried out in accordance with the SCIOS Certification Scheme and the sub-scheme for combustion plants. During the site visit and inspection, Bureau Veritas collects relevant data through a visual inspection, measurements and tests. The findings are recorded in an inspection report.
