ENERGY AUDIT IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY DIRECTIVE, EED

INTRODUCTION

When you manage to save energy, you not only contribute to a more sustainable business operation, but also significantly reduce energy costs. But what can you save on? When are you legally obliged to take energy performance improvement measures? An energy audit provides you with insight into this, so that you know where your energy costs come from and what you need to do to improve energy performance.

An energy audit consists of a schematic overview of all existing energy flows, including transport and processes, and a description of the main factors influencing energy consumption. In addition, the audit provides a quantified overview of how much your company could save on energy over the next four years, supplemented by a description of possible cost-effective measures to achieve this.

WHY AN ENERGY AUDIT?

Does your company employ more than 250 full-time jobs (FTE's)? Or does the company have an annual turnover of €50 million or more and an annual balance sheet total of more than €43 million? Then, according to the European Energy Efficiency Directive (EED), you are obliged to carry out an energy audit every four years, and to submit the results to the competent authority.

WHAT DOES THE ENERGY AUDIT ENTAIL?

The knowledge experts at Bureau Veritas Asset Management carry out the energy audit according to the EED requirements, limiting any inconvenience to your organisation as much as possible.

An energy audit usually consists of the following components:

  • document review
  • interview with the client's representative
